Large-format tiles need a flatter substrate and more care at the cutting stage than small ceramics, which is why book-matched marble-effect designs take longer to plan before a single tile goes up. I tank wet areas before tiling starts, not just seal the grout afterwards, so showers and wet rooms hold up over time rather than a few years.
Standard bathroom tiling runs from £35 to £55 per square metre depending on tile size and layout complexity, with large-format or book-matched feature walls priced individually once I have seen the space. Kitchen splashbacks are usually a fixed price from £250. I supply and fit, or tile materials you have already bought.
