Painting and decorating is often the last stage of a bigger renovation, or a job on its own when a home just needs refreshing. I prep properly before any paint goes on: filling, sanding, and making sure old surfaces are actually sound rather than painting over problems that show through in a few months.
Most jobs cover walls, ceilings, skirting and woodwork, and I use trade paint rather than budget tins because it covers better and lasts longer, which matters more than the small saving on materials. Hallways and stairwells in particular need care with cutting-in around doors and spindles, since that is where a rushed job shows first.
A single room typically costs from £250 to £400 depending on size and the amount of prep needed, a full hallway and stairs from £450, and a full house repaint is quoted after I have walked the property. I can supply paint or work with colours you have already chosen.
